What do I do if my students' Chromebooks are not recognized?

When you receive the “Chromebook Not Recognized” error, this could mean 1 of 2 things.

1. The extensions may be missing

To check to see if the proper extensions are there, visit (chrome://extensions) and check for the two extensions titled “Chromium M” and “Chromium License.” If you cannot see those extensions then this could be the cause of the problem and an administrator will need to push out the extension through the Google Admin Console.

2. The extension is there

If you do see this extension, then the one titled “Chromium M” may be out dated. Simple fix, in order to update, have the user log out and log back in. After a few minutes of logging on, the Chromebook will be recognized by GoGuardian for Teachers.
